All-gender, flat track roller derby.

Des Moines Roller Derby is an all-gender flat track roller derby league. Founded in 2019, DMRD strives to be a welcoming environment for all skaters, officials and volunteers.

Our growing team is looking forward to a big year in 2025!

After the success of our first local event in 2024, we’re planning more bouts, more bootcamps, and more outreach to other Midwest derby teams. Want to get involved in roller derby? Now is the perfect time to join us.

Our Mission

Des Moines Roller Derby is committed to promoting athleticism and excellent sports conduct through competitive play of roller derby within our local community and beyond. We strive to foster an inclusive environment where all members of our league are treated with equality and respect, regardless of their socioeconomic background, religion/spirituality, race, sexual orientation, nationality, ability, ethnicity, or gender identity.

Empowered by the philosophy of "for the skater, by the skater," DMRD strives to give back to their community through participation in various outreach programs, charities, and fundraising.
