Des Moines Roller Derby is an all-gender flat track roller derby league. Founded in 2019, DMRD strives to be a welcoming environment for all skaters, officials and volunteers.

After a bountiful bootcamp at the beginning of this year, DMRD is focused on developing our new skaters and filling a competitive roster for 2026. We’re scheduling more bouts, more scrimmages, and looking ahead to a new era of roller derby in Des Moines.
Our Mission
Des Moines Roller Derby is committed to promoting athleticism and excellent sports conduct through competitive play of roller derby within our local community and beyond. We strive to foster an inclusive environment where all members of our league are treated with equality and respect, regardless of their socioeconomic background, religion/spirituality, race, sexual orientation, nationality, ability, ethnicity, or gender identity.
Empowered by the philosophy of "for the skater, by the skater," DMRD strives to give back to their community through participation in various outreach programs, charities, and fundraising.
